Sony Ericsson Txt or ck13i review

Sony Ericsson Txt Cost me 6050 Rs Or equal to 121 US $ with a discount in a Sony Ericsson show room in Chennai, this is one of the last of the Sony’s non touch phones. Being, not a huge fan of touch phones and looking for a budget phone, I needed no excuse to by this phone. The various complaints of phone getting stuck up, did stop me to think. But, due to lack of key pad based budget phones, I came back to this option.

Things that I have read on the net before buying Sony Ericsson Txt

1)    Absence of 3g connectivity.
2)    Phone battery charge hold is not that good.
3)    Key pad keys are very small.
4)    There is no option to mute the shutter sound of camera.
5)    Phone gets stuck frequently.
6)    Picture quality is not that great.
7)    Provision of unnecessary options. ( like “friends”, Apps like “You tube”, picasa” )

What I observed in Sony Ericsson Txt

1)    Camera sound can be muted by switching the phone to silent mode.
2)    Wi-Fi option though present drains the battery very fast, other than that the battery last’s better than expected.
3)    Key pad typing takes a while adjusting to but after some time it’s not that bigger deal.
4)    Phone gets stuck when movie is watched in it and games  are pushed little too much.
5)    Camera picture quality is good for this price. But, the picture is still better when seen in computer.
6)    Speaker sound is really good and since the mobile display is very bright the battery life increases if darker picture is used as wall paper.

Problems I Felt, other than what i read

1)    The display is very bright even after the brightness is reduced to the least.
2)    Opening the phones back cover is sometimes a challenge.
3)    No short cut options to access the running application from the outside

On the whole a good buy, if you can get over all the challenges it posses. If you are a person who wants to buy a product and enjoy it stay clear of Sony Ericsson Txt, last of its kind from the Sony Ericsson collection.

Complaint to sony ericsson service center provided a good result after they updated the mobile software the phone speed is reasonably well and some options that were not working well started responding. After updating i can play some games by adjusting the game screen size. The software can also be updated through the Sony web page, the only problem is you need a data cable and its not provided with this Model
